About the speaker

Timmy Ghiurau is leading innovation initiatives at Volvo Cars, focusing on VR/AR technologies. He works with virtual simulations, eye tracking, and VR as enablers for self-driving cars and UX research.

He is also the co-founder of The Point Labs, where he combines innovation and creativity to drive this incubator of dreams. The lab provides services to innovative partners, leveraging transdisciplinary expertise in the metaverse, immersive, and emerging technologies.

Timmy holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Innovative Technologies and Entrepreneurship from Aalborg University in Copenhagen, with a focus on game engines, virtual reality, startups, and investments. During his time there, he met the founders of Unity and joined the eye-tracking startup The Eye Tribe, which was later acquired by Meta.

As a creative technologist active in music, fashion, media production, photography, and other creative industries, Timmy’s current focus is on ‘futuristic’ thinking, innovation management, and building, leading, and investing in teams that bring together creative and engineering forces.

Timmy has built an impressive career, earning patents and awards while supporting new talent. In addition to his work at Volvo Cars and The Point Labs, he serves on boards for startups and organizations such as SXSW and the EU Commission. He also partners with Unity and Varjo. His leadership is shaping immersive technology and making a real impact on the industry.

Outside of his main work, Timmy invests in and advises fashion and tech startups across Europe.

As the creator of The Founder Games, Sanja’s mission is to build startups that will transform societies in developing regions.

She has helped startups in North Macedonia secure over €3 million in early-stage investments and set the first Guinness World Record in Macedonia for the Longest Business Pitch Marathon.

Sanja created The Founder Games, the first-ever reality show for entrepreneurs, designed to inspire founders in emerging markets to think globally, rather than being limited by local constraints.
